Cool room questions we get asked
What size commercial cool room do I need?
Work back from your delivery cycle rather than your floor area — how much stock has to be held between deliveries, and how much of it moves each day. Our containerised cool rooms come in 20-foot and 40-foot configurations holding roughly 5 to 12 tonnes, and custom sizes are available if neither suits the space you have.
Is a temperature controlled cool room different from a standard one?
They describe the same thing. What matters is the range and how tightly it holds. Ours run from −18°C to +10°C on a digital controller, so the same room can be set as a chiller or a freezer depending on what you are storing, and changed later if your product mix changes.
Why choose a container cool room over one built on site?
A containerised room arrives assembled and runs from the moment it is connected, and it can be moved if you relocate. A panel-built room is fixed once it is up. For farms, packing sheds and businesses on leased premises, being able to take the room with you is usually the deciding factor.
Can a cool room run on solar?
Yes. The solar option pairs photovoltaic panels with an 80Ah energy storage system and a phase-change cooling agent that holds temperature overnight and through overcast days, so the room runs fully off-grid. It suits orchards, farms and remote sites where mains power is expensive or unavailable.
Do you supply cool rooms outside Queensland?
We are based in QLD and NSW and freight Australia-wide. We have our own service team in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sydney; everywhere else, servicing is handled by a local service technician associated with Chill Pro.
Most of what we supply is display refrigeration — multideck fridges, serve-over deli cases and upright chillers for butchers, supermarkets and grocers. If you are fitting out a shop floor as well as cold storage, the full product range is a better place to start.
