howcasing the latest technologies and trends shaping the future of commercial refrigeration

The Shanghai Refrigeration Expo continues to be a hub of innovation, showcasing the latest technologies and trends shaping the future of commercial refrigeration. This year, a key focus was on smart connectivity—with leading manufacturers unveiling systems that integrate WiFi modules for real-time performance monitoring and diagnostics. These advancements not only allow factory technicians to remotely oversee the health of each unit but also enable proactive service alerts to end users, helping to minimise downtime and protect valuable stock. Energy efficiency was another major theme, with several suppliers presenting eco-friendly solutions, including R290-based systems and solar-powered refrigeration options. These innovations align perfectly with our ongoing commitment to sustainability and smarter service solutions.

Following the expo, we’ve had detailed discussions with our refrigeration suppliers about integrating WiFi connectivity across our range of refrigerated cabinets.

The main benefit to customers is the ability for the factory technicians to remotely monitor unit performance in the field and notify the customer through their mobile if any issue arises—offering peace of mind and helping to prevent product loss.

Further news on our range of semi-height and full-height heated displays will be available in the May newsletter.

We are also finalising the details of our new range of containerised coolrooms powered by solar energy and supported with battery storage, which will provide a flexible and energy-efficient solution for off-grid or mobile applications.

Take care and stay safe,
