SPAR Halifax — A Semi-Vertical Grab-and-Go for Salads, Sandwiches and Cheese
Supermarket · Halifax, Far North QLD
SPAR Halifax wanted to offer chilled food-to-go — the salads, sandwiches and cheese lines customers pick up on the way through.
The Challenge
Food-to-go only works if customers can see it and reach it. It needs to sit where people walk, hold temperature reliably in Far North Queensland heat, and merchandise a mixed range — salad tubs, sandwiches, cheese — without any of it looking like an afterthought.
The Solution — One 1200mm Semi-Vertical Grab-and-Go
-
1 × 1200mm semi-vertical grab-and-go cabinet
A semi-vertical sits lower than a full-height multideck and angles the product towards the customer, so a mixed range of salad tubs, sandwiches and cheese is easy to see and easy to reach from a standing position. In a small-format store the constraint is floor area, so the cabinet has to earn its footprint rather than fill a wall.
The Outcome
The cabinet is working well, holding salads, sandwiches and cheese lines, and the owner is very happy with it.
Key Takeaways
-
Chilled food-to-go is one of the easiest ranges for a small supermarket to add.
-
A semi-vertical angles the product towards the customer — better for grab-and-go than a tall upright.
-
At 1200mm it suits a small-format store where floor space is the limit.
