SPAR Hughenden — Freezer Capacity Built Up Over Three Orders
Supermarket · Hughenden, North West QLD
SPAR Hughenden is the grocery store for a small town in North West Queensland. They came to Chill Pro for frozen display capacity — and came back twice more.
The Challenge
In a town this size the SPAR isn't one option among many, it's where people shop. That puts real weight on the refrigeration: if a freezer goes down there isn't another store down the road, and there isn't a technician ten minutes away either. Every cabinet also arrives by road freight, a long way from anywhere.
The Solution — Freezers Added in Stages
Rather than one large fit-out, Hughenden built up its frozen display over three orders as the range grew:
-
1 × single-door upright display freezer
-
2 × double-door upright display freezers
-
1 × three-door upright display freezer — second order
-
1 × 900mm grab-and-go cabinet beside the cash register — third order
On the first delivery, freight damaged the bottom panels of two freezers. Chill Pro replaced the panels free of charge.
The Outcome
Maree, the store manager, has been a pleasure to deal with throughout, and the store has ordered twice more since. Hughenden also put two other businesses our way: Flinders Butchery, across the street, which bought a single-door upright display chiller; and Jason, who owns Fair Dinkum Meats and the Friendly Grocer in Woorabinda, and whose businesses we've supplied since.
